More tour tour...

Our tour is going well. We played our last show with Ruth, Wavorly and Nevertheless last night and we will miss them all very much. It’s great to tour with a group of guys and make friends with them after only a few days. We’re looking forward to crossing paths with all of them again at festivals and random dates throughout the Summer.

Although that portion of the tour is over, we’ve got a bunch of shows coming up with Coin Laundry Loser throughout July. So far the shows with CLL have been great. We’ve been playing shows in Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, and Tennessee which were great. Many people have opened their homes to us and we’ve been warmly welcomed at every stop on the tour.

Tour tour tour....

Hello Road, The summer rock tour with Ruth, Wavorly, and Nevertheless is almost over. How can this be you ask? It’s only just begun! Well, it was scaled down from about 5 or so weeks of shows to just only a handfull. The good news is that we’ll still be out on the road hitting it hard and playing various shows almost everyday … ranging from house shows to parks to clubs and onward… So if you so desire, go check out all the dates and try to make it out to one of these summer shows. we’ll bring the rock! The last several days have been somewhat long and drawn out at times, but enjoyable. We played Labelle, FL; Brandon, FL; Jacksonville, FL; Franklin, TN; Otterville, IL; and just yesterday played Elletsville, IN. all unique, different, and enjoyable in their own way for sure. Below is a little footage of a few of the shows, enjoy:

Days 12, 13, and 14

We all apologize for the length of time between posts.  We went back home last Friday, played a show, and then came back on Monday afternoon to Nashville.  We pretty much got sidetracked and slacked on posting the last few days…but have no fear, we’re back. Here is a breakdown of what you’ve missed:  On Monday we messed with sound stuff for our up and coming summer tour.  Tuesday was Wes’ turn in the studio and he finished three songs.  On Wednesday he went in and finished up the other two songs.  Thursday found us in Wilmore, KY playing at Ichthus Festival.  Not only did we meet some neat people and see some friendly faces, but we also discovered that cicadas are attracted to sound.  They swarmed our stage and it was quite interesting.  This brings us to Friday—today was a day of preparation and relaxation.  We got up at noon today, went and ate some chicken at McDougal’s, walked around some, and now are about to take showers and continue on with relaxing.  We are actually done in the studio as of Wednesday, so we won’t have any more studio footage for you guys and gals until we are back to work on the full-length album, but we are about to go on our summer tour.  Go check all the dates out at www.myspace.com/deasvail.  Hopefully we’ll see you face to face at a show.  So we’ll be sure to still keep you all updated on what’s going on in our world.  Till then, cheers!  DV

Day 11

Day 11 started like all the others. We got up, drank our coffee, took our showers, continued to wake up, and then proceeded to the studio. Justin was the only one who worked today. He had finished one song earlier so all he had left was four. (which he knocked out in record timing!) After we were done there we loaded up, headed back around 3 to the hotel, loaded our belongings up and left Nashville around 4 o’clock in route to Russellville. We got home at midnight and the rest is history. We’re home for a couple days to recharge our batteries and also to play a show in Little Rock. We’ll be back in the studio as soon as possible Monday. Wes starts on vocals then. Until then! Keep spreading the word about the up and coming EP!

Day 10

Considering that there were 8 people in the studio yesterday, things were pretty quiet out there today, as Andy and Kelsey stayed back at the homestead.  Andy got his new Freda speaker cabinet in the mail today, and it is really nice, so we’re pretty pumped about that.  Laura and Wes were able to finish up the keys with some Rhodes and organ parts.  After that was all wrapped up, Justin got started on rocking out the bass parts.  Things are sounding just how we had hoped.

Day 9

Today Andy finished up the guitar parts for the EP and LB started on the piano, keyboard and organ parts. We’re over halfway through the production of our new tunes and it’s coming together very nicely. Everyone’s pretty excited about how the songs are turning out now that more parts are getting recorded. We also had a visit from Mark and Ben of Brave New World Records to work out some details for the EP release and festival dates for the Summer tour.  Once we left the studio, the guys decided to visit Cracker Barrel and watch TV/play Wii while Laura went into Nashville to see family and friends. On the whole, day 9 has been pretty productive.

Day 8

Photobucket The day started off at 11 a.m. like all the rest of them. Andy got in, started cranking away at the first tune, we took a break to eat, then he got back to the action and knocked down another one before the day’s end. While he was busy, the rest of us perfected our shooting skills and decided to get some of the shots on tape. Once Andy was through with the two songs he and Mark T. got in on the action too.

Day 7

Today was Andy’s day! While he tracked two songs the rest of us just hung out and kept him company most of the day. Below is the footage of the day, enjoy: Tonight we just came back to the hotel and played cards and hung out. It was definitely Andy’s day, he won!
